Blakey’s Beat is a repertory band of Jazzschool Institute (Berkeley) students celebrating the music of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. I recorded Howard Wiley (drums) and Chuck MacKinnon (trumpet) as special guests for the group’s promotional piece.
